Let the summer reading season begin!  I picked up some books to read this summer, before my busy fall school schedule begins.  It definitely started off with a bang!  I just finished Ransom RiggsMiss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Riggs does an amazing job connecting vintage photography into the story lines of Miss Peregrine and the peculiar children under her care.  The young adult novel mixes oddities, suspense, photography and fantasy seamlessly.  This trailer does an excellent job of describing the book, without giving anything away.

Oooooooh this trailer gives me the chills, and I could reread this book already!  I was also pleased to find out that they are making it into a movie, AND the rumor mill says that Tim Burton may be the director!  He really is the only director that can do this book justice.  This was a fast, suspense-filled read that I would highly recommend.  I can’t wait to start Hollow City, the second book in the Miss Peregrine series.  If it is anything like Peculiar Children, I am in for a real treat.
