A More Natural Me Giveaway

I am so excited to announce that I am hosting my first giveaway!  Woo-hoo!  This is a fabulous giveaway of some of my favorite products that have been posted in my Natural Me series.  The products that I choose are ones that I use on a regular basis.  I have you covered from laundry duty, to beauty.  If you want to try out a variety of more natural products, that aren’t filled with harmful chemicals, this is the giveaway for you.Natural Me Giveaway WInnerI was always a little hesitant about making my own laundry soap.  Spending money on something I wasn’t even sure I would like. Well, I am going to giveaway about 10 ounces of homemade powdered laundry detergent, in this pretty little mason jar.  This laundry detergent contains borax, washing soda, baking soda, Epsom Salt, and Fels Naptha.  Each regular to large load only needs 1-2 tablespoons of detergent per load.  This detergent does not get sudsy, like traditional detergents, so don’t worry when you don’t see any bubbles. This product is not 100% natural.  There is a lot of debate whether or not borax is safe, and same with the Fels Naptha.  There is this website called SkinDeep and you can type in any ingredient or product and it will tell you on a scale of 0-10, 10 being terrible, on whether or not the product is harmful or not.  Many of the ingredients of this detergent got a 0, hooray!,  and a couple had either 2-3, which is fair.  I am glad that I found a detergent that works, is budget friendly, and has a considerably lower amount of hamrful chemicals in it.

Also included are Yes To Carrots shampoo and conditioner.  I have fairly oily hair, and Yes To Carrots shampoo and conditioner works like a dream.  I always have trouble with shampoos and conditioners leaving behind product build-up on my scalp and after 2-3 weeks of use my scalp would start to get itchy.  With Yes To I have never had any issues with build up.  Since I love Yes To products, I have also included Yes To Cucumbers facial wipes. These wipes remove makeup, dirt, and grime.  They are also the winner of Allure’s Best of Beauty Natural Wonders 2011.

Another great natural brand is Burt’s Bees and their Tinted Lip Balm in Honeysuckle is included in this giveaway.

Dr. Bronner’s Liquid Castile Soap is an amazing product.  It is biodegradable and can be used as a body wash, face wash, shampoo, heavy duty cleaner, dishwashing, and in laundry detergent.  This really is a magical soap!

Last but certainly not least there is a sample pack from SimplyNurtures.  I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely lady, behind this amazing line of beauty products, at Bellflower Street Fest.  Ruthala is the salt of the earth, and her line is truly divine.  You will be getting a sample of her Natural Beauty Bar Soap, Herbal Bath Tea, and Grey Clay Mask.  Her products in this giveaway are paraben, sulfate, and petroleum free.  All of my favorite frees! Please take the time to visit her online shop, or if you are in the Long Beach area she has her products at Zen Baby Shop.

Well, there you have it.  My first giveaway and it is open to anyone who lives in the US.  Hopefully in the future I will have a giveaway open to international entries, as well.  To enter click on the picture in this post, on the image in the side bar, or the click here link below.  The giveaway will be open for two weeks and the winner will be chosen at random with the use of Rafflecopter.  I will post the winner on Saturday, September 13th.  Good Luck to those who enter and thank you for taking part in my very first giveaway!
