Lamothe House; New Orleans

As we continue on our Southern Adventure, we finally made it to New Orleans. I have wanted to go to New Orleans for years and this was the one stop I was looking forward to the most. I absolutely fell in love with this city! I could have spent another 4 days exploring the streets and different districts. We chose to stay near Frenchman St, on Esplanade Ave, which is at the edge of the French Quarter. French Quarter Guest House has four different guest houses to choose from, and we decided on the Lamothe House.

The Lamothe House, was established in 1830 and is on the National Historic Registry. Reception is located in the second floor of the main house, and there is no elevator, so you have to climb these amazing thick and squeaky stairs. Although we did not stay in the main house, we were one street back in the Deluxe Queen Guest Room. These rooms are located near the parking area, for the hotel. We seriously lucked out, and didn’t have to carry our large suitcases up any flights of stairs. The room was spacious enough, and we even had our own little private patio. Our stay at the Lamothe House was quite enjoyable, and we will for sure be using French Quarter Guest House on our next trip back to New Orleans.
