Savannah, Georgia

Savannah, Georgia is filled with such a rich history, like all of the South.  Amazing green squares are at the heart of each block, and large grassy areas are filled with monuments commemorating religious and historical figures.

My sister and I spent only a few days, in this wonderful city, and we experienced just a taste of what the city has to offer.  We stayed just outside of the city center, at the Thunderbird Inn.  The Thunderbird Inn was rated as one of the top ten retro hotels in the US.  AND you get unlimited free popcorn, at reception!  We made the most of our time, by going on two different tours.  The Old Savannah Tours offers an all day tour, with off and on boarding.  This was a great way to see historic Savannah, with the option of getting of of the trolley to explore different areas.  The second tour we did was a Haunted Tour, with Ghosts and Gravestones.  It was everything I thought it would be; cheesy fun, with ghost stories!

A second trip to Savannah is definitely in my future, and hopefully it won’t rain…every single day, the next time around.
